Do you have a fascination with WILD ANIMALS (mammals, reptiles, birds, fish, insects, spiders – the lot!), their lifestyles and habitats? Also rocks, crystals, geology, astronomy … anything to do with the wonderful world of nature? Find out more at Junior Field Naturalists SA, a nature club for primary school children.
Our meetings are generally held on the LAST THURSDAY of each month (except January and December) at the Bellevue Heights Primary School in the Activity Room.
TIME: 7.00pm to 8.15pm
FEE: $35.00 per family per year (This money contributes towards our club’s sponsorship of a Murray tortoise at the zoo.)
A guest speaker attends each meeting, and topics cover a wide range of animals and nature such as reptiles, bats, frogs, geology, birds, etc. Where possible, live specimens of the relevant animal are brought to the meeting. Children are encouraged to bring along any interesting specimen (eg fossil, insect, etc) for “show-and-tell.” Occasional FIELD TRIPS will be held during the year. Parents are encouraged to attend our meetings and share the experience with their children.
